Media notes
Most of the tail is obscured by the water in which she is standing, but the central feathers, at least, have been replaced. The brown wing covert feathers are in the process of being replace by the blue-grey adult feathers.
Observation details
A one-year old female, now beginning to molt out of her juvenile plumage. As can be seen in these photos, the tail and wing coverts are being replaced, but the head and underside feathers have not yet molted.
