Observation details

Three males calling simultaneously, two close together at the northern end of the marsh and one, rather more distantly, but still clearly audible at the southern end. Good, close views of one male flying out from a small willow by the track and 'crash landing' in cattails a few seconds later. Tried for a photo but my lens just wasn't fast enough for this particular observation. Tiny heron with blue/black upperparts (including crown) contrasting with bright tawny-buff upperwing coverts especially notable in flight. Bill and legs yellow. Audio of calling males attached.
