Media notes
Two cuts of a Colima Pygmy-Owl that has come in, after playback, to a 50' deciduous tree that looks like an alder, on a steep slope above shade-coffee on the E slope of Cerro San Juan. In the 1st cut, it sits about halfway up and is being mobbed by, first, Red-headed Tanagers, then Golden Vireo (singing now), with a bit of Wilson's Warbler as well. Background of 2nd cut includes: a scolding Orange-billed Nightingale-Thrush. Other background sounds include: White-winged Dove, Brown-backed Solitaire song, White-tipped Dove. Recorded on a hazy morn (90% thin cloud cover), ca. 70F, using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
