Observation details
Incredible and obvious movement today. After covering nearly the entire island and only having a handful yesterday, the sky exploded with them today. Most were flyovers, though a few hundred were on the ground near the south end of the island. Starting at about 0945 they started coming in off the water at a high altitude, then slowly dropping lower and continued out toward Inishmaan. Some would land on the fields, though most continued to the east. Single birds, pairs, and larger groups were nearly always flying over between 945 and lunch, and it slowed after that, though a few would occasionally still go by; many photos
