Observation details
**State Lifer** - Presumably same Jaeger found by Mary Nemecek on evening of 16 Sept. - Observed as close as 10 yards in flight/on water/chasing Ring-billeds. - Plumage - Light juvenile (warm buff overall) showing broad buffy tips to upperpart feathers with darker centers. - Just slightly smaller and more slender overall than R-B Gull in direct comparison. - Short pointed central tail feathers. - Silvery, pale, streaked nape. - Showing extensive white flash on upper wing. - Slender bill (with nail covering about 1/3 of bill); Long-tailed would be about 1/2. - White flash on upper wing 4-5 outer primaries (versus outer 2 like Long-tailed).
