Media notes
Song of a Cinereous Owl that sailed in high overhead, silently, after fishing playback and then started calling just before dawn on a fairly clear, cool (63F), calm morning at 1450m on Cerro San Juan. Defense of territory. Gradually, it moved farther and farther away, still calling. This was in pine-oak woodland, and it landed near the top of a tall (maybe 60'?) pine. A Brown-backed Solitaire eventually starts singing in the background at dawn. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal parabola.
