Media notes
A bird that had been calling at a distance responded to playback by coming in close and calling; this is the response to playback. The bird was calling from a 50' alder-like tree that was shading coffee in plantations at 1300m, above El Cuarenteño. Background includes: Thick-billed Kingbird, Brown-backed Solitaire, White-winged Doves, Spotted Wren, Grayish Saltator, Tufted Flycatcher, White-throated Thrush, Sinaloa Wren, and dog. Recorded on a pleasant (75F) morning (with thin, hazy cloud cover now), using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22” parabola.
