Observation details
High count; exact count, widely spaced individuals, except for one male-female pair together. Tiny, pale, and dusty gray bird with blackish wings and bright wingbar. Boldly striped whitish and black face and variably golden or golden-orange crown. Most birds first detected by song, an extremely high-pitched series of notes getting progressively faster and higher. In some cases ended with a short, high chatter. Also high pitched, wavering “zeep” call. Will upload a few recordings of singing birds.
