Observation details
The male Williamson’s Sapsucker flew into a tree nearby that of the Black-backed Woodpecker. The sapsucker then flew to the smaller, broken off tree that the black-backed was in and they stood face to face for about 15 seconds before the sapsucker flew off. The two were perched at the top of tree on opposite sides of the trunk. The black-backed seemed to have scared the sapsucker off the tree. Kai wishes he had his camera with him at the time; Armin wishes he had known that he only had space for one more photo on his camera before his SD card was full.
