Observation details
Two juveniles, fully grown and able to fly. The birds have remained in the same location for over a week (within 50m of the house), continually calling back-and-forth to each other all day long. They tend to fly tree to tree and perch clumsily, though they can also get up and fly above the tree tops. If I go out and look at them, they will fly off, but then return within ten minutes or so. It is circumstantial, but behavior and site fidelity makes me think they are recently fledged young returning to their nest area and calling in the hope of a parent feeding them. The resident adult pair did build a nest this year within 40m of where one youngster keeps returning, but as best I could tell they never used that nest.
