Observation details

previously reported male, observed at ~8:00 in the southwestern most area of the harbor best viewable from the Harbor Club parking lot, in the loose company of Bufflehead and Hooded Mergansers; interestingly, not associating with sleeping scaup just yards away; bird spent a lot of time tucked in, resting, however occasionally lifted its head and swam around, before flying by itself to the eastern part of the harbor, the best vantage point also being from the Harbor Club; the flanks were not immaculately white, but he exhibited a dark back and obviously the stringy tuft feathers, obvious even at rest; was also noticeably smaller and seemingly more compact than nearby GRSC; poor i-Phone-scoped documentation photo:
