Observation details
continuing bird. We strongly suggest parking in the Dune Peninsula public parking lot and walking east down a wide paved pedestrian trail that curls aound the bottom of the bay, then take the smaller off-shoot trail to the right that goes up along the landward (east) side of the bay. The birds were in the mud on this side of the bay with Killdeer before the blue Marina headquarters building. No color on upper coverts, blunt-ending fairly short think straight bill, black legs or somewhat dark green in the intense sunlight. Photos. I was surprised to see it seem smaller than the two Least Sandpipers it was accompanying. I guess this is an adult failed nester (?)
