Media notes
Second male recorded singing from outer foliage of one of the taller eucs. Typical song type of the Blue Mountains-Hunter Valley population. Background noise from wind and lorikeets but song, calls and bill-clicking can be heard.
Observation details
Heard faint typical RH song and located a singing male in outer foliage of a tall euc. Later realised this may have been a different individual to the one I found here days previously (which was also observed later this day), due to different calls. My photos seemed to show a different shaped warty facial patch but were too low-res to confirm 100%. However, photos taken later that day by another local photographer, Chris Nixon, were much better quailty than mine and clearly showed the a difference in size and arrangement of the warts on the facial skin of the two birds. Despite this evidence, the two individuals were never observed together at the same time.
