Observation details
Black and white oystercatcher: white underparts, solid white wings stripe thru secondaries not extending onto primaries, and less than 50% white rump - I expect it’s not good enough for “pure” American, so it probably should go in the hybrid option, but I’ll look at photos later. It looks “cleaner” than I expected. The rump is about 50% white, and the underparts and underwing look solid white except for few stray dark spots. Need more (and better) photos from different angles, etc. The slash may be the best category for this sighting.
