Media notes
Three cuts from the same male singing very high in the canopy (~20m), moving around quite a bit between walnuts and oaks. The first two cuts feature one song type, while the third cut features a different song type.
Observation details
Continuing. All three heard singing at the same time. The trail that runs east off the road from the Vaile shelter seems like it’s a territory border. So if you camp out there eventually all three males converge in that area while making their rounds. I strongly suspect there’s a fourth male about halfway between the parking lot and the Vaile shelter. It consistently sings a two parted song on each of my two visits unlike the three-parted songs of the other males on territory, and it seems far enough away that it could be a separate male. However I really cannot be 100% positive.
