Observation details
Spotted by Betsy in our water feature. Grayish-olive thrush, lacking obvious eyering and reddish tail, eliminating HETH, and lacking any buffy tones that a SWTH would show. Soft photos in low-light conditions show the important field characters. BITH probably cannot be ruled out by photos but tail only vaguely brownish, cheeks were grayish and streaked, and overall plumage quite grayish, rather than with brown tones, all features better for the more expected GCTH. This bird was also at our water feature the previous day but it was later and darker, such that I strongly suspected SWTH. We were fortunate to get a second chance and confirming views this evening.
