26 Cave Swallows in IMG_6149.
Observation details
I took 50 photos of the flock feeding over and on the surface of the pond. I could only find Cave Swallows among the dozens of birds. The photo, below, shows 26 birds, a fraction of the birds I could capture in one photo. There are 28 birds in the un-cropped version. I watched the birds fly away from me in two large groups, side by side. There were, at least, 30 birds in each group, probably more. This is the largest number of Caves I've seen at this location at one time. I counted 39 birds in IMG_6146, taken within the same minute as the image 6149, below. IMG_6138 was taken one minute before the other two images and has 47 birds. The birds were working two ponds, but I only had time to photograph them working the one pond before they flew off.
