Observation details
This flock of 8 birds was found feeding cones attached to a fallen conifer tree. They barely made a noise for us while offering prolonged and close views. We met another birder (Tad Blank) that we directed to this spot and he refound the birds and heard them call. To him they sounded like a Cassia. After Matt Young and Tim Spahr checked out our recording of the weak sounds a bird made the reply from Matt was, "Seems like there's a distant Cassia here at very beginning. " Evidence would point towards this flock of 8 being Cassia but we can only nearly confirm 1, so we are recording the rest as Red/Cassia.
