Observation details
Surrounded by Glaucous Gulls Fred Broerman and I saw this one with a darker back. It appeared to be a little larger, red on the bill, pink legs, with some coloration in the wing-tips. It doesn't quite seem right for anything but a hybrid considering the size, the color of the back, and the limited coloration in the primaries. We had initally thought pure Slaty-backed as we are not very familiar with that species. Seeking advice from the North American Gulls Facebook group, which has many good gullwatchers, I now believe it is a Glaucous x Slaty-backed hybrid.
