First audio for ATTW in King Co., WA (on eBird)
Observation details
Not terribly uncommon in burns of this age class in my experience - though certainly less common in areas with this much logging. First ID’d by distant drumming (that fades away toward the end). A decent effort was made to see the individual to get photos since they aren’t often reported in the county. When I got close to the drumming I still struggled to see the bird so I tapped a rock against a hollow tree a few times which elicited a territorial response. Photos and recording. First heard at (47.1800380, -121.4358474) trending away from the mountain/bulk of burn. It’s *possible* I heard a second individual as well but it could’ve just been this one making a relatively long journey between drumming.
