Observation details
Notably late surprise, vocal male foraging in the trees along DeMarco Path. Initially singing exclusively “accented ending” songs (“zee-zee-zee-zoo-zee”), which according to Birds of the World is more frequently given by unmated males. I followed his movements for about half an hour to watch for additional signs of breeding activity. He kept to the same general area, and I did not see any evidence of a female or nest. Subsequently heard singing “unaccented ending” songs (“zeee-zeee-zoozoo-zee”) along the northern boundary of the park proper on my way back. I’ll keep an eye out at this site just in case
