Observation details
At least 2 calling adults with around 8 fledglings total. They were mostly skulking in the low vegetation and being quite wary, though not flying very far when they moved. The fledglings made high, insistent sibilant calls while the adults chipped, all at a rather subdued volume except for one who broke into a song nearby. Two were seen on exposed perches: sparrows with bubblegum pink bills, rufous caps, buff-tinged clear breasts and distinctly lacking a dark eye line. Two other, more distant birds were also heard singing. AUDIO
