Observation details
As I was paddling back in from a counter-clockwise perimeter paddle, I saw 2 loons swimming as a pair in the water grasses 100 yds. east of the island; a 3rd loon flew in. The 3 loons swim and dove together for about 10 minutes, until the pair seemed to "escort" the 3rd loon from the area, following him until a point north of the big rock in the water, until he/it seemed to swim off by itself. As I paddled back north of the island, I noticed a nest with 2 eggs (unattended) on the north side of the island. I paddled past the big rock; one of the loons did a 10 second penguin dance behind me. As they were behind me, I could not see if they returned to the nest.
