Observation details
A dark backed gull was found standing with a group of Ring-billed Gulls, but its plumage was not exactly that of a first summer Laughing Gull should look like; more like a 1st winter bird. The mantle was dark and the primaries were much darker, and not marked with white. The feet and bill were both black, and a partial eye-ring was evident. Photo included.
