Observation details
One Rufous-tailed Robin in forbes around Webster House; found by Scott Schuette and Doug Gochfeld in the morning. Scott, Doug, Andy Bankert, Chris Feeney, and our group relocated the bird later in the morning: small bird (size of small sparrow), uniform dark brown above and pale below (off white) with warmer, reddish tail that contrasted slightly with rest of upperparts; I didn't see face pattern or underparts well, but nothing else would match this bird; extreme skulker only flushed at very close range in dense Angelica/grass vegetation (nearly stepped on a couple times), and only observed in flight three times at close range; flight photos by Doug Gochfeld looked like they would be sufficient to document the record. One horrible flight photo by Heinl attached.
