Observation details
Unseen bird giving burst of song at dark from cattails on far shore from the dam. Not 100% sure of ID, but it seems the most likely possibility. Urgent, repetitive calls that weren’t Sora, VIRA, Coot or Bittern. It still sounded different from the normal Gallinule calls I’ve heard. I recorded bird, but with distance and ambient sounds it is softer in the background than it was in person. IRL it was very loud. 6/8/21 *Originally ID as COGA but recording wasn’t definitive on further review so I’m deleting my original entry. It could be a possible Wood Duck
