Observation details
Curved bill, much shorter than LBCU, which was expected. Bill shape, head pattern and overall plumage pattern is consistent with WHIM. We also considered Bristle-thighed Curlew, which has a similar bill shape, but plumage looks more like WHIM. Overall color seems more grayish than cinnamon, streaking appears to include the flanks rather than ending at the lower breast. We're confident that this is not a LBCU because of the structure, primarily the bill. We're less confident about differentiating between WHIM and BTCU, but it seems that the above differences point to WHIM, which should be more likely in this location than BTCU. See pics...
