Observation details
Found 2 days ago by Josiah V. I located the bird within 5 minutes of arriving at 3:20 pm. It was feeding silently at first in the small stand of trees to the left of the giant metal mosquito sculptures at the Visitor Center and soon started singing. It flew to the other side of the visitor center and sang vigorously for 2-3 minutes before returning to the original stand of trees. Brownish-gray streaking on sides, pale red on head, conical finch bill. Quite the songster in mid-afternoon, especially considering the noisy traffic in the area! I got so-so photos and recorded the song on my iPhone. Thanks, Josiah!
