Media notes
Call notes of a female in the 5’ mangroves near our campsite. Recorded using a Fostex FR-2LE with a Sennheiser ME62 & Telinga Universal 22" parabola.
Observation details
A dazzling male responded to playback in the howling wind. I photographed him and later recorded his song (as he slowly calmed to singing at what were probably more natural intervals. Meanwhile, REW had five other birds giving calls in response to pushing. These were all at our first mangrove spot. Then, at our mangrove campsite, we heard another 6 or so birds singing spontaneously and saw a couple of females that were calling but not singing.
