Observation details
Photos, audio. DR initially heard a "SOVI"/YTVI song from a tall cottonwood on Rancho Cañada, south of river, rather near where one was singing back on 28 May 2017, and then a second bird 29 May 2017, and were present for a week or so. We became focused on trying to see the singing vireo, and had several glimpses in 3 different cottonwoods as it moved from treetop to treetop, before RC first could see it had a bright yellow throat and upper breast contrasting white belly. RC taped it with her iPhone while DR tried to take photos (and later also tried to tape it). We eventually saw it had two prominent white wingbars on gray upperwings, olive upperparts, and bright yellow spectacles. We spread the word, and it was still singing when we continuing our walk. At the time it was sunny and calm. When we came back an hour later the wind had picked up and we did not heard it again.
