Media notes
Lots of wind, footsteps, and House Sparrows in this recording, with the Inca Dove quite soft.
Observation details
One seen well calling repeatedly from the top of a tree in front a front yard of a home. This was a small dove showing the classic scaly appearance to the wing and breast feathers. The tail was long and squared off with white outer feathers visible on the underside of the folded tail. This bird appeared to have some kind of bill deformity. The bill was very long, and possibly crossed at the tips. Bird gave its classic "no-hope" call repeatedly throughout the visit, which is audible under the racket of House Sparrows on the recording. Another was heard given the same call north of this spot, but I could not see it.
