Observation details
Found by Susan Steele in Pond #10. Larger than nearby Killdeer and Pectoral Sandpiper. The bird appeared to be a juvenile with a diffused buffy appearance to the breast, neck, and head, with the belly and undertail coverts being whiter. The upperparts were mottled looking with blackish feathers fringed with lighter edges. The bird looked plump overall with a smaller head. The top of the head was darker and looked slightly capped. The bill was about as long as the "head length" and slightly decurved. The legs were a very dull yellow. When it raised its wings, the underwings appeared pale. See digiscoped photos below.
