Media notes
4 MOWA chasing each other. One would perch for a moment and sing. Territorial behavior.
Observation details
This may be a record high number observed at this location. 4 were seen together (in the bins!) in the second opening (further south and higher than first/large opening). These 4 were chasing each other, briefly stopping to perch and sing. Several times they flew just a few feet away from where I stood. Recording is of THREE different MOWAs CHIPPING while chasing! Second recording is of 2 MOWA: first chip notes with chase, then song when one stopped briefly. The other 2 birds: 1 MOWA was observed at the log landing just past the beaver pond (historical territory). 1 MOWA was heard only .4 miles up trail from parking area in opening with many willows and shrubs (before beaver ponds).
