Observation details
I thought I had only one. I've been hearing him for a few days. He hangs out close to my house loudly calling "turee" almost nonstop. I can sometimes hear him from inside my house. He's been hard to see and even harder to photograph in this gloomy weather. Today I was photographing him when I heard another "turee" from deeper in the woods. I watched for about 30 more minutes and the two birds met up, briefly sparring, aflutter in yellow. I heard these weird "BRTT" sounds when they interacted and recalled hearing the same sounds days ago. Checked my app and sure enough, the "brtt" is described as an aggressive encounter sound for this species. Never heard it before! Anyway, that's how I know I have at least 2 birds. And one is calling as I type this!
