Observation details
One male bird that looked great for an Eastern, with an all-black mantle, small white spot at the base of the primaries, and white edging on tertials. At the time, this feature caused me to think that the bird was a hybrid, but subsequent research shows that many adult male EATO from all over eastern North America show this feature. This bird was singing a variety of odd songs that seemed intermediate between Eastern and Spotted. Photographed and recorded.
