Observation details
or 8 circling over Talbert Lake for about 15 minutes - last seen at 8:06 am when they formed a flock of 7 or 8 fairly high in the sky, and then that was it; after seeing the Vaux’s Swifts more or less zip by low heading NW, I noticed a few dark swifts higher up - these were long winged and soaring, and my first thought was possible Chimney Swifts until I saw a White-throated Swift nearby and quickly realized they were Black Swifts as they were larger with longer and broader wings, wide based tail, and lots of soaring; a couple came down fairly low at one point, and I should have acceptable photos.
