Observation details
Rare! Continuing. Singing and cheew/ chuc calls from brush on south middle area between the Ridge Trail and the east wood line, but not in view. Later singing and perched in a tree on the east end of the brush area. Dave Nutter was able to get it in the scope for Ann and Pat Martin to see. Donna and I weren’t able to see it before dropping down again. Donna Scott, myself and 3 birders from Vermont found it again singing on the opposite west end of the field near Ridge Trail. I was able to record some of the song with the widely spaced phrases mixed with other singers like Field Sparrow. Flew overhead back to the south side brush again. A very challenging bird to see as it moves around unseen a lot. The bird does seem to favor the S. Spring Pool trail edges. No playback used.
