Observation details
Zig zagged back and forth close to shore over kelp bed before exiting the area south. Bird was visible for about two minutes per 117 image time stamps. Almost impossible to keep the bird in focus in the dingy low light conditions, only when it came close to the water surface the focus locked into a range it could be seen clearly. Very fast back and forth switching direction, high arcing flight, characteristic vertical winged profile occasionally when changing direction. Flight behavior unlike any other tubenose I have seen from Point La Jolla.
