Observation details
Dark flycatcher with large bill and short tail. White throat and belly and contrasting dark flanks. White tufts visible on sides of rump. Did not vocalize. Moved among the tops of bare limbs perching upright for long periods. It was interesting that the appearance of its “vest” varied depending on the lighting and angle of view. It was always quite high above us. ID photos. Saw it several times in generally the same spot west of the greenway (off trail) near the creek and a sewer manhole just beyond the wooden boardwalk if walking from Beaver Creek Commons Drive.
