Observation details
Large, pale buteo, which we identified as a 1st-year bird. Underparts very white. Feathered legs lightly mottled with brown spots. Back mostly brown with a hint of the rufous typical on an adult bird. Tail mostly grayish white. Lacked dark terminal band or belly band as in a rough-legged hawk.
