Observation details
**mega rare. Lifer. Observed at right side of drainage pond feeding in pouring rain. Good views only possible via scope due to the weather. At first glance I thought I was looking at a Pectoral Sandpiper but noted subtle differences. Scaly back, greenish legs, medium sized black bill, white breast and chin. Flew after 38 minutes out over farm field and I lost sight almost immediately ... I was too wet to wait to see if it returned. Thanks to Tom Aversa for finding this bird and Louis Bevier for the heads up. Photos to follow
