Observation details
The west end of Quidi Vidi Lake was buzzing with Cliff Swallows. White or beige forehead with a buffy coloured rump. They were flying low over the water and struggling to fly against a strong westerly wind. At times they almost stopped in flight as the winds tried to push them back. They then moved to flying low (knee height) over the grassy areas east and west of the band stand. Photos taken but poor lighting conditions in the dim, overcast lighting.
