Observation details
Flying with the 70 Cliff Swallows. Very close up views as it flew within a couple of feet of us on several occasions. Dark in colour. Similar size to Cliff Swallow, maybe a little larger. Fast in flight with a wing beat that appeared 'stiffer' than the Cliff Swallows that were present. All dark brown in colour and easily distinguished amongst the large number of Cliff Swallows. Observations were made on the grassy area west of the band stand. Photos taken in low light conditions. It has been reported that this bird had been hit by a car and is now deceased.
