Observation details
***Mega- juvenile first found by Harvey Tomlinson at dogleg inside the NW impoundment. Prominent eye stripe, rufous colors on back, head and shoulders. Head had an almost capped appearance. Long drooping bill and long legs. Fed similar to a Baird's Sandpiper, appearing elongated though when upright and preening it had a pot-bellied and circular head. In flight it had a white rump and had a cold rufous color due to the overcast conditions. In direct comparison with Baird's Sandpiper, Semi-palmated Plover, Short-billed Dowitcher, Semi-palmated Sandpiper. Observers: Harvey Tomlinson, Skye Haas, Ann Marie Morrison, and two others. Photographed.
