Observation details
Four yellow-headed blackbirds with white white patches (male) were seen flying in one of 3 groups of blackbirds. One immature male with white wing patches seen flying low in ponds before take off. At least 4-5 heard in ponds. So giving a conservative count of 5. Recordings to follow. The songs that sound like chainsaws or cats yowling are the Yellow-headed Blackbirds. They make some weird Yellow-breasted Chat sounds also. Yes, the "rusty bedsprings" songs of Red-winged Blackbirds can be heard in the recording too. Too dark for photos.
