Heermann's Gull. North Shore area, Salton Sea, CA 27 Aug 2016
Observation details
Continuing bird, found by Bob McKernan and Chet McGaugh on or about 6 Aug 2016. Appeared to be an adult in basic plumage. All gray, with a darker gray mantle. The head looked a streaky gray. Red bill with a dark tip. Dark legs. Seen standing on a concrete piling along the shoreline just west of Mecca Ave. Photos attached.
