Observation details
It has been speculated if this bird may be a boreal migrant or derives from the small population not far north of here. The molt would correspond with a boreal migrant post-breeding molt but the size of the bill, pretty much the only measurement that differs significantly, would speak in favor of local ssp peruvianus. I have compared this with my pictures of known peruvianus and the bill looks much the same. Northern birds would have a shorter bill.
