Observation details

After garnering identification assistance from Marshall Iliff, Brian Sullivan, M. O'Brien, and multiple others through Holly Merker, it was decided that this was a Red Phalarope and not a Red-necked Phalarope. Contrasting the RNPH, deciding factors include a thicker base of the bill, a stockier neck and chest, lighter gray head and facial markings, and a pinkish buffy blush around the throat.
