Observation details
Two birds, male and female. Green Pheasants were formerly established breeders in this area, as were Ring-necked, but both are now placed in VARCOM Category 6 (introduced but extirpated). These two birds are almost certainly recent releases for hunting. The plumage of the male suggests a possible intergrade between Ring-necked and Green Pheasant.
