Observation details

1 heard only. 2 excavating a nesting cavity located in a white birch snag on east side of trail, about 70 yds north of the power line and about 15 yds past a chainsawed tree removed from the trail. Repeatedly entering and leaving tree cavity; sometimes could detect them carrying out debris. See photos. They wern't seen on my return trip.
